2 dead, 1 hospitalized following multi-vehicle crash on E 53rd St
AUSTIN, TX – Two people were killed, and another was taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on E 53rd Street early this morning, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash happened at 4:20 a.m. on E 53rd Street, near the southbound I-35 service road ramp, when three vehicles collided.
Multiple people may have been ejected during the crash.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third victim was declared a trauma alert, then taken to Dell Seton Medical Center to receive treatment for critical, life-threatening injuries.
Drivers were told to expect extended traffic delays near the scene and were asked to avoid the area.
