Accident on Austin freeway slows rush hour traffic

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in Austin responded to a crash on US Highway 183 Southwest of downtown that slowed rush hour traffic to a near halt Thursday evening.

According to the Austin- Travis County traffic report page, the crash was reported at 6:19 p.m. on US-183 northbound near Pecan Park Boulevard and South Lamar Boulevard. Authorities partially shut down the freeway until the crash could be cleared from the road causing a traffic to build up.

No word on if any injuries were sustained as a result of the incident have been released as of yet. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide any updates that become available.
