APD identify bicyclist killed at East Koenig and Clayton
AUSTIN, TX – Austin police have released the identify of a man who was struck and killed earlier this month while riding his bicycle near the intersection of East Koenig and Clayton Lanes.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that the incident occurred just before noon on February 5. 56-year-old Mark Davis was hit by an SUV as he rode against traffic on a one-way street in the area, just northwest of where US 290 meets I-35. Emergency responders took Davis to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the SUV that hit Davis stayed on the scene and has cooperated with the ongoing police investigation. It is not clear whether that person will face any charges.
