At least 1 person killed in early-morning crash on Research Blvd
AUSTIN, TX – At least one person was killed in a collision on Research Boulevard early this morning, according to the Austin Police Department.
#ATXTraffic – APD officers are working a traffic fatality that occurred in the 9400 Blk Research Blvd NB. All NB lanes are shut down at Cap of TX Hwy exit as we continue to investigate. Call came in at 3:15am. Please avoid the area at this time. Incident #21-1290284 – WC5

The crash happened in the 9400 block of Research Blvd northbound, near Stonelake Boulevard, at about 3:15 a.m.
At least one person died as a result of the crash.
In response to the crash, authorities closed the northbound lanes of the roadway near the exit for the Capital of Texas Highway.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area as authorities worked the crash. Their investigation continues at this time.
