ATCEMS responds to multi-car collision that injures 4

AUSTIN, TX – Four people were injured, including a child, following a multi-vehicle collision in the Blue Hill Estates neighborhood of Southwest Austin yesterday.

KVUE reports that the crash happened at SH 71 and Thomas Springs Road shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday. While the circumstances of the collision are unclear at this time, it appears that at least two vehicles were involved, one of which also collided with a fire hydrant and toppled some utility lines.

At least one person had to be extricated from their vehicle.

One adult was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A second adult was hospitalized at Dell Seton with less severe injuries, while a third declined transit to a hospital.

An injured child was transported to Dell Children’s, and is expected to recover.

Traffic in the area was affected for some time following the crash.
