Collision near Briarcliff causes traffic delays and closures on SH-71
BRIARCLIFF, TX – A collision on State Highway 71 caused traffic delays and road closures in northwestern Travis County yesterday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Austin.
Traffic Alert: SH 71 is closed in both directions at RM 2322-Pace Bend Rd due to a crash. Police have closed all lanes to clean up the mess. Allow extra time for this route until opened. #atxtraffic

The accident happened near the town of Briarcliff, on State Highway 71, near RM 2322 Road/Pace Bend Road S, at about 3:25 p.m.
Authorities closed both directions of SH-71 as they worked the collision and cleaned up the scene.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area and to allow for extra travel time due to traffic delays.
The roadway was reopened by 7:23 p.m.
At this point, it is unclear what led to the crash, or if anyone was injured as a result.
