Crash on SH-71 leads to lane closures and delays in south Austin
AUSTIN, TX – A collision on State Highway 71 led to traffic delays and detours on Friday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in Austin.
Traffic Advisory: The eastbound frontage road on SH 71, immediately east of I-35 is closed due to a crash. Traffic is being diverted to the I-35 northbound frontage road. Detour east on Woodward St to reach SH 71 eastbound. #atxtraffic

The accident happened on the eastbound SH-71 frontage road, near I-35, at about 5 p.m.
Authorities closed the frontage road for a time as they investigated the accident. After about 20 minutes, all but the right lane were open again.
It is unclear what caused the accident or if anyone was hurt as a result.
