Critical incident closes lanes on I-35
AUSTIN, TX – Officials in South Austin redirected traffic on Interstate 35 for a couple of hours following a Thursday afternoon crash.
According to the official Twitter page of Austin-Travis County EMS, the incident happened in the southbound lanes of I-35 near State Highway 71 just before 12:00 p.m.

Emergency services transported one individual to the hospital following the crash. Details regarding the extent of thier injuries have not been made public.
Motorists were diverted around this portion of I-35 for about 2 hours until the lanes were reopened just after 2:00 p.m.
