Driver charged with intoxication manslaughter for fatal New Braunfels crash

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – According to KXAN, a driver has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a fatal crash on TX-46.

The accident took place on Sunday at around 2:15 a.m. when a pickup truck crashed head-on into a Kia Optima. The truck’s driver, 33-year-old Jacob Perez failed a field sobriety test and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following the accident.

The Kia’s passenger, Sevannah Shay Mata, 28 died at the scene of the crash. The Kia’s driver, Perez, and Perez’s 6-year-old daughter were injured in the crash.
