Four people suffer major injuries in pin-in crash near Pedernales River
SPICEWOOD, TX – Four people were taken to the hospital after a pin-in collision near the Pedernales River last night, according to a tweet thread by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash occurred in the 24000 block of W TX-71 just before noon when multiple vehicles collided, pinning two people inside the wreckage.
The first pin-in victim was extricated from the vehicle after about 30 minutes and was taken to the hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries.
The second of the pin-in victims was rescued about 45 minutes after the collision was taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious wounds.
Two other victims were also brought to the hospital, with one of them suffering severe wounds and the second suffering from what ATCEMS described as “potentially serious injuries.”
A STARFlight medical helicopter was unable to assist with the rescue due to poor weather conditions.
The identities of the victims have not yet been made public.
ATCEMS warned travelers in the area to expect traffic delays and closures and advised them to avoid the location if possible.
