Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with pedestrian in Katy
KATY, TX – According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man on the 23200 block of I-10 Monday night.
Bernardo Gonzalez was driving a blue 2024 Jeep Wrangler west on I-10. He exited I-10 and went onto the ramp to West Grand Parkway North northbound. He then activated his hazard lights and parked the Jeep on the inside shoulder.
Gonzalez exited his vehicle and jumped off the West Grand Parkway and landed on I-10. The driver of a dark-colored SUV then hit Gonzalez. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene.
First responders transported Gonzalez to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
