Man Accused Of Running Over Girlfriend In DWI Accident
A man was accused of striking her girlfriend with his car while he was drunk, according to a January 14 article by KXAN.
The incident happened at a 7-Eleven at 3636 N. FM 620 Road at 2:34 AM, January 8. Witnesses told police that 45-year-old Brett Gomber and his girlfriend were having a dispute. He attempted to drive off while she was holding onto the car, causing her to be dragged and run over by it. They added that the woman was lying on the ground crying while Gomber walked into the store. He then starting cursing at the woman again after leaving the store. The woman was carried by EMS crews to a nearby hospital. When deputies arrived, Gomber told them that he drank alcoholic drinks. Later, it was discovered that the woman suffered a L5 lumbar fracture and breaks in both the right and left pelvic bone and her left hip bone. Meanwhile, Gomber was charged with third degree felony intoxication assault.
