Man Arrested After Two-Car Collision Killed One
A man was arrested and charged after a fatal crash, according to a February 11 article by Fox 7 Austin.
The collision happened on February 10, at the intersection of Rutland Drive and Mearns Meadow Boulevard. 21-year-old Elmer Cortez-Reyes was driving his 2009 black Mitsubishi Lancer when he ran a red light, crashing into a 2001 blue Saturn sedan driven by 25-year-old James A. Mares. Unfortunately, Mares was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities charged Cortez-Reyes with intoxication manslaughter.
