Man in critical condition after being pinned beneath semi-truck in San Antonio crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A pin-in rollover crash involving a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler truck left a man critically injured on US-281 in San Antonio early this morning.

According to KSAT, the crash occurred in the 28500 block of Highway 281 at about 2:30 a.m. when the driver of a pickup truck, who allegedly was driving “erratically,” attempted to exit the highway.

The driver then lost control of the pickup and collided with barrels on the ramp. The impact sent the pickup rolling over an unspecified number of times back into the freeway, where it was struck by a semi-truck.

The driver of the pickup was pinned beneath the semi, and officials had to use the jaws of life in order to extricate him.

The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was airlifted to the hospital for the treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.
