Man injured after allegedly inattentive driver causes crash on Congress Ave
AUSTIN, TX – A man was injured in a crash that may have been caused by inattentive driving on Congress Avenue on Tuesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
The crash happened at 4229 S Congress Avenue, near Industrial Boulevard, at 8:47 a.m., as the 66-year-old driver of a gray 2017 Lexus reportedly failed to pay proper attention to the roadway. He then failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn, and the right-back quarter of his vehicle was struck by the front-right end of a white 2016 Honda.
The driver of the Honda, a 27-year-old man, sustained possible injuries in the accident.
The at-fault driver was not reported as injured.
