Man pleads guilty to intoxication manslaughter in 2018 Buda crash that killed 21-year-old
BUDA, TX – A man has pled guilty to charges of intoxication manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed a 21-year-old man in November 2018, according to KXAN.
The accident happened in Buda at the intersection of Treetop Way and Dove Drive after Cade Brown, of Kyle, reportedly had been drinking throughout the day.
Brown was reportedly going over double the speed limit of 35 mph when he ran off the side of the road and collided with a tree.
The passenger in his vehicle, Kaleb Nielson, 21, died as a result of the 2018 crash.
Brown was sentenced to 10 years in prison and will be in jail for six months starting December 10. The judge suspended the sentence for 10 years, a common practice in plea bargains and Brown will instead serve a 10-year probation.
