One dead in apartment drowning near UT campus

AUSTIN, TX – A person died late last night in an apartment pool drowning near the University of Texas campus, according to the official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened around 11:50 p.m. in the 2900 block of Cole Street. An adult who has yet to be publicly identified was found lying unconscious in the pool of an apartment complex.

Despite resuscitative efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The cause of death has been named as an apparent drowning.

There was no further information immediately available.
