One dead, one injured in single-vehicle crash on FM 969
AUSTIN, TX – One person is dead and another is injured after a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in east Austin.
According to the official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS, the accident happened at 10::48 p.m. in the 7900 block of Farm-to-Market Road 969 and involved a single vehicle.
One person was briefly pinned within the wreckage but was extracted quickly by emergency crews, according to ATCEMS, and declared a trauma alert. Despite resuscitative efforts, the victim died at the scene.
Another person, also declared a trauma alert, was taken to Dell Seton with injuries that were potentially serious, but not expected to be life-threatening.
ATCEMS warned travelers to avoid the area, as extended traffic delays were likely due to the cleanup and investigation of the collision.
The identities of the victims were not released in the tweet thread.
