Pedestrian killed in Halloween-night hit-and-run in N Austin
AUSTIN, TX – A driver struck and killed a pedestrian last night in north Austin, then fled the scene, according to Fox 7 Austin.
The accident happened at Research Blvd and Burnet Rd at 7:36 p.m. when a red vehicle collided with an adult pedestrian. The driver then continued north on Burnet without stopping to aid the victim.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be publicly identified, was declared dead at the scene.
Austin authorities advised travelers to avoid the area, as roadways were closed and traffic delays were likely for the investigation of the collision.
