Person in serious condition after fiery car vs motorcycle crash in S Austin

AUSTIN, TX – One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a vehicle reportedly caught on fire during a motorcycle crash in south Austin early today, according to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the 3000 block of E Ben White Blvd in the Parker Lane area, just after 12:45 a.m. when a car and a motorcycle collided.

One person was declared a trauma alert, then was taken to South Austin Medical Center with serious injuries thought to be potentially life-threatening.

Authorities did not reveal the circumstances of the crash or the identities of the drivers.

ATCEMS warned travelers in the area to expect traffic delays and road closures as investigators surveyed the scene.
