Person killed after being hit by train near downtown Amtrak station
AUSTIN, TX – A person was killed after being struck by a train in the downtown area last night, according to KXAN.
The accident occurred near an Amtrak station near the intersection of Baylor Street and W. 3rd Street at about 9:10 p.m.
Initial reports stated that a person was trapped beneath a train after being hit by it. The victim died at the scene.
The identity of the victim and the cause of the accident were not immediately available.
