Police Officer Injured After Drunk Teen Driver Crash
A police officer was injured after being struck by a drunk teen driver, according to a February 10 article by KXAN.
An officer responded to a frantic homeowner’s call who exclaimed her house is being burglarized. When officers arrived, they encountered at least 10 teenagers nearby. Immediately, they fled the scene but struck a police cruiser. In response, the officers arrested the juveniles. It turned out that the driver was 14-15 years old, too young to have a driver’s license. Also, he was driving his parent’s vehicle. The teen was charged with DUI minor, driving under the influence, minor in possession of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Unfortunately, an officer suffered minor injuries from the collision. Police are currently investigating the connection between the teens and the burglary.
