San Antonio man falls asleep at the wheel, rolls vehicle on I-37

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man from San Antonio was lucky to survive a crash that rolled his vehicle over along I-37 late Monday night.

According to KENS, the incident happened south of downtown along I-37 near I-410 shortly before midnight. Police say the man fell asleep at the wheel and drove off the side of the road causing the vehicle to overturn.

Luckily, a tow truck was immediately behind the driver when the crash occurred and was able to stop and render aid. The driver was pulled from the vehicle and refused medical aid at the scene. A passanger in the vehicle fled the scene on foot for an unknown reason.

The driver was released from the scene with no charges expected to be filed.
