South Austin pursuit ends in SUV rollover crash

AUSTIN, TX – One person was transported to the hospital Monday morning following a police chase in south Austin that ended in a rollover collision.

According to KXAN, police attempted to pull over a vehicle suspected of speeding along State Highway 71 at about 11:30 a.m.

The driver failed to comply and continued traveling south on I-35. They came to a stop along Slaughter Lane, then sped away again in an attempt to evade police.

The driver lost control of their vehicle and rolled it along the eastbound lanes of Slaughter Ln., east of I-35.

The suspect was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe alcohol or drugs may have played a role in the incident.
