Three women seriously injured in San Antonio crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Several people were transported to the hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on the East Side early Sunday morning.

According to KSAT, the crash happened along Interstate 10 near Ackerman Road at about 12:50 a.m. Police say that after being involved in the crash, one of the drivers contacted a family member to help extract them from the vehicle. The family member arrived on the scene and was removing tools from her trunk when her car was struck by an oncoming vehicle, pinning her in between.

The second woman was quickly taken to Brooke Army Medical center to be treated for critical injuries. Two other individuals were taken to Northeast Baptist Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver who struck the family member’s car may be charged with DWI as a result of the incident.
