Two injured in five-vehicle crash on I-35 in N Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Two people were injured yesterday in a five-car collision in north Austin that involved a total of five people, according to the official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the 12100 block of North I-35, in the northbound lanes, at 10:16 p.m.

According to the tweet thread, two victims were pinned inside their vehicle as a result of the major collision. They were later extricated from the wreckage by emergency crews.

One person was declared a trauma alert and was taken to the hospital for the treatment of injuries deemed potentially serious. Another person received minor injuries in the accident. The other three people were not hurt.

The identities of the victims and the cause of the accident have not been made public at this time.
