Two people seriously injured when truck and car collide in Del Valle
DEL VALLE, TX – Two people were severely injured when a semi-truck and a car collided southeast of Austin this evening, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The collision occurred in the Del Valle area on eastbound SH-71, near Ross Road, at 7:19 p.m., when a semi-truck and a car collided.
One person was pinned within the wreckage for about 30 minutes. The victim was declared a trauma alert after being extricated from the accident, as was a second victim.
The two people were taken to the South Austin Medical Center for the treatment of serious injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening.
Authorities did not immediately release the identities of the victims.
ATCEMS advised travelers to avoid the area, as road closures and traffic delays were likely following the accident.
