UPDATE: Man killed in Metric Blvd crash identified

AUSTIN, TX – The person who died in a May 8 crash on Metric Boulevard in Austin has been identified by authorities, according to KXAN.

James Henry Omary, 66, a passenger in a Mitsubishi Galant, died in a head-on crash at 12349 Metric Blvd. The Galant was hit by a 2018 Hino van, which was pushed into the wrong lane by the impact of a 2004 GMC SUV.

There are no details at this time as to why the SUV and the van crashed.

Omary was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Four other passengers in the Galant were injured, but the drivers of the SUV and the van were not. They remained at the scene of the accident.
