UPDATE Victim identified in fatal San Antonio freeway crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX  – Officials in San Antonio have identified the man killed in an early-morning crash along a freeway northwest of downtown Wednesday.

According to KSAT, 26-year-old Miguel Fred was found dead at the scene of the collision on Loop 1604 near Green Mountain Road at about 2:30 a.m.

Officials believe Fred was speeding when he collided with the rear end of another vehicle within the eastbound lanes of the freeway before coming to a stop in the median.

The second vehicle was said to have left the scene immediately following the crash. No identifying details have been released.
