Victim identified in fatal North Austin pedestrian collision

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities with the Austin Police department have released the identity of a man killed in an auto vs pedestrian crash in April, according to KXAN.

58-year-old Sawn West was walking with another individual on  Interstate 35 north of U.S. Highway 183 at about 10:30 p.m. on April 20th when he was struck by a truck traveling northbound.

West was pronounced dead at the scene. The second individual involved did not sustain any injuries. The driver of the truck cooperated with police at the scene and is not facing any charges.
