Victim identified in fatal northeast Austin crash
AUSTIN, TX – Police in Austin have identified the passenger who was killed in a collision involving an intoxicated driver earlier this month.
According to KXAN, the incident occurred within the 8500 block of FM 969 at about 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15th. Alfonso Sanchez Angeles, 26, was killed after the truck in which he was a passenger swerved off of the road and hit both a thick brush patch and a fence before coming to a stop.
Another passenger in the vehicle was treated at the scene. The driver, 27-year-old Juan Manual Aboyles-Garcia, was taken to the hospital and subsequently arrested for intoxication manslaughter. He is currently being held in the Travis County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
