Woman critically injured in wrong way DUI crash
HOUSTON, TX. – A woman was killed in a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver in the Klein area of Houston on Tuesday morning.
According to KHOU 11, the crash occurred at around midnight at 10201 Spring Cypress Road. A Harris County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says a man in his mid-20’s was driving southbound in the northbound lanes in a Kia when he collided with a woman in a Nissan sedan. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and she was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
The man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and might face charges of intoxication assault. These charges could be upgraded if the woman ultimately does not survive. We will continue to monitor this story for any further developments.
