Wrong-way driver fatally collides with another vehicle near Independence Heights
HOUSTON, TX – According to ABC 13, a man is dead following a wrong-way collision near I-45 SB and Crosstimbers St on Thursday morning.
A 35-year-old woman was driving a black Ford F-150 north in the southbound lanes of I-45 when she collided head-on with a silver Jeep driven by a man in his 50s around 3 a.m.
Following the first collision, a third car hit the road debris, and a fourth vehicle then hit the wrong-way driver.
First responders pronounced the Jeep driver dead at the scene.
Authorities charged the wrong-way driver with intoxication manslaughter.
Crews shut down the area to process the scene. The area was reopened around 9 a.m.
