Authorities say semi-truck driver did not cause fatal wreck in southeast Houston
HOUSTON, TX – According to ABC 13, authorities no longer believe a semi-truck driver was responsible for the deadly multi-vehicle collision at Sam Houston Pkwy E and Sabo Rd on Friday.
Police now say a woman driving a black Lexus RX350 was speeding when they slammed into the back of a silver Chevrolet Cavalier stopped at a red light around 7:10 p.m.
The collision flipped the Chevrolet onto the sidewalk. One person inside the Cavalier, Francisco Medillin, 44, died. Medillin’s 9-year-old son was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
First responders transported the Lexus driver to an area hospital in critical condition.
No one else was hurt in the incident.
