Car fatally hit bicyclist on Foy Lane
HOUSTON, TX- A bicyclist was killed on March 1st when he was hit by a vehicle that then attempted to escape the scene on Foy Lane, KTRK reports.
A northbound Lincoln Continental struck and killed the 62 year-old unidentified bicyclist at 10861 Foy Lane around 10:40a.m.
The driver did not stop after that accident. Someone who witnessed the accident followed the driver and reported to police his whereabouts. This is what allowed police to catch the person who fled the scene. It was reported by the same witness that the bike remained stuck under the Lincoln while the car fled the scene.
Authorities found the driver at his house at 3200 Cedar Hill Lane. It did not appear as if the man was intoxicated when he was detained by police after the crash.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead upon arriving at the hospital.
The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
