Upon arriving, deputies saw one vehicle was burning up completely.
As they investigated, authorities learned that the driver of a Toyota Tacoma slid into the opposite lane and hit a Honda Civic driving in the opposite direction.
It is believed that wet and slippery road conditions played a big part in the accident. However, the speed of the Toyota is also being considered as a factor as well.
The driver of the Toyota died at the scene while the Honda’s driver was hospitalized. The victim is expected to survive.
The other two vehicles involved in the crash tried to break when the initial collision occurred but were unable to avoid hitting it.
No information was provided concerning the occupants of these two additional vehicles.
