4-vehicle crash in north Houston claims 1 life, hit-and-run suspects sought
HOUSTON, TX — Authorities are searching for a group of suspects who fled a fatal multi-vehicle crash Sunday evening in north Houston, reports ABC13.
The incident occurred at 101 Canino Road, near the intersection with Airline Drive, in the city’s Airline Village area.
An early investigation shows the victim was operating a gray car heading eastbound on Canino Road. Moments after the victim entered the intersection, a silver truck ran a red light and T-boned the car.
The victim, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and suffered fatal injuries when the the vehicle landed on top of him.
After the suspect vehicle veered into the opposing lanes and collided with another vehicle, causing a chain reaction accident that impacted two additional vehicles, all of its occupants fled the scene on foot.
Despite efforts from passersby who worked to raise the car up with jacks, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A n investigation into the incident remains open and ongoing as authorities continue to search for the fleeing suspects.
