9 people hospitalized after vehicles crash into food truck and crowd

AUSTIN, TX – A total of nine people were hospitalized after two vehicles collided and then went into a group of people and a nearby food truck on Barton Springs Road last night, according to KXAN.

The collision happened at 8:18 p.m. in the 1800 block of Barton Springs Road near Barton Boulevard and Sterzing Street, after a truck and a sedan were involved in a T-bone crash.

The impact sent the two vehicles into a nearby food truck and several people around it.

Two people were taken to the hospital with severe, possibly life-threatening injuries.

Another two were hospitalized with possibly severe wounds.

Five more suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

One of the victims was one of the drivers.

An additional two people refused transport to the hospital.

Authorities have not yet made any charges in connection with the collision, which remains under investigation at this time.
