Counterflow truck driver causes fatal crash on Fred Hartman Bridge
LA PORTE, TX- A pickup truck was driving south on a northbound lane when it hit a Camry on Fred Hartman Bridge on Jan 2nd, ABC13 reports.
Harris County Precinct 8 constable deputies responded to the crash.
The accident occurred in the northbound lane. Major Abram was driving south on this lane in a black GMC around midnight. He crashed head-on into Lamont Rhodes, 27, who was driving a Toyota Camry.
Both Abram, the 90 year-old truck driver, and Lamont Rhodes, the Camry driver, were the only people involved in the accident. They both died from the accident while still on scene.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently ongoing. Impairment is not being considered a factor in the crash at this time.
