Deputy constable hurt after suspect collides with his vehicle on US 59

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – A deputy constable was injured when a suspect hit his vehicle during a police chase near FM 1314 and US 59 on Saturday, according to Click 2 Houston.

Alejandro Zair, 18, was driving a red Camaro when a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull him over for a traffic violation on Sorters Rd. Zair refused to pull over and led the deputy on a chase.

A Harris County Precinct 4 constable deputy joined in on the chase. Zair collided with his patrol vehicle on US 59 near FM 1314. The collision sent the patrol vehicle flying into an embankment and caused the Camaro to hit a telephone pole. Zair then fled the area on foot.

Rescue crews transported the deputy to an area hospital with a broken nose and bruised ribs. He had to receive stitches and staples.

Authorities arrested Zair on Sunday. They charged him with felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle and with an additional outstanding warrant from Harris County.
