Driver strikes, kills motorcyclist on Mesa Dr
HOUSTON, TX – A driver fatally collided with a motorcyclist near 5800 Mesa Dr on Thursday, according to the Houston Police Department.
A 27-year-old man was driving a gray Kia Forte north on Mesa Dr when he slammed into the back of a black Honda XL1 motorcycle that was stopped at a red light around 11:25 p.m. The impact ejected the motorcyclist fro the bike.
Following the collision, the Kia driver exited his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Authorities eventually located the suspect and took them to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Charges have not been filled at this time. The incident is under investigation.
