Early morning bus runs over female pedestrian on Gulf Freeway
HOUSTON, TX- A woman was struck and killed by a METRO bus on the Gulf Freeway on March 2nd, Click2Houston reports.
The female victim had been running across Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook Drive when the bus hit her.
Admitting that the victim was noticed before the crash, the driver explained to authorities that the bus was unable to stop in time to avoid striking the woman.
The METRO police did mention that the bus was returning to the station and it was not actively running its course when the accident happened.
There was no official mention of when the accident actually occurred, but the crash site was reopened around 3:06a.m. No other additional information or details, including the identity of the victim, were released to the public.
