Man dies after armed robbery leads to car vs METRO bus crash in north Houston
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A robbery suspect died following a crash with a METRO bus Wednesday afternoon near north Houston, reports ABC13.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the collision unfolded in the area of Ella Boulevard and West Airtex Boulevard at around 1:30 p.m., shortly after an armed robbery at the nearby Dollar General store.
Deputies said the man appeared to have been shot by the store manager while conducting the robbery. Moments after leaving the store in a vehicle, he was involved in a crash with a METRO bus.
First responders transported the suspect to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. It’s unclear whether he died as a result of the gunfire or the crash.
While six passengers, including the driver, were aboard the bus at the time, no other major injuries were reported.
