Passenger dies after crash off Timberlake Dr in Cypress
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A woman died following a single-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon in east Cypress that left another person injured, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision occurred in the 13200 block of Timberlake Drive at Jarvis Road, on September 16, at around 3:24 p.m.
Investigators say Tommy Gibbens was behind the wheel of a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck heading northbound on Timberlake Drive when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. The pickup continued northbound into a driveway approaching a wastewater treatment plant. Authorities said the vehicle collided with a fence, and then a pole and a wall on the property.
Gibbens and the victim, Glenda Krass, who was in the front passenger seat, were both rushed to an area hospital. Officials said Krass was pronounced deceased at 5:22 p.m., nearly two hours later.
The HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the accident.
