Pedestrian hit, killed by pickup truck on FM-1960 near Humble
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man died late Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle while walking on FM-1960 near northwest Humble, according to ABC13.
The fatal incident occurred in the 4900 block of FM-1960, just east of Farrell Road. It was reported shortly before 11:00 p.m.
Harris County sheriff’s deputies said the man was walking toward traffic when he was hit by a driver in a white Ford F-250 pickup truck.
EMS personnel tended to the male pedestrian, but he was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver, who stayed behind after the event, told investigators he had not seen the victim prior to the crash. Investigators observed that the area was very dimly lit with no crosswalks or sidewalks in the vicinity. Witnesses said the driver, who was not suspected of intoxication, was also not speeding at the time.
An investigation remains underway to learn why the victim was in the roadway.
