Police chase ends with fatal crash on I-69 in Humble
HUMBLE, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, a police pursuit ended with a deadly wreck on I-69 near Rankin Rd on Wednesday evening.
Humble police saw a stolen silver Chevrolet Trailblazer and attempted to perform a traffic stop. However, the driver, a 25-year-old man, sped off and initiated a police chase.
During the chase, the suspect stopped and let a female passenger out of the SUV. Authorities took the woman into custody.
The suspect was driving south in the northbound lanes of the I-69 feeder road near Rankin Rd when they slammed into a Kia Soul driven by Esoterica Spivey, 40.
First responders transported Spivey and her 43-year-old male passenger to an area hospital where Spivey died.
The suspect was also taken to the hospital. He was treated and then taken into custody.
Authorities have charged the suspect with Homicide and Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle.
