Toddler hit, killed by car in SW Houston parking lot
HOUSTON, TX — A 2-year-old boy died Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a southwest Houston apartment complex, according to KHOU11.
The fatal incident occurred off Ranchester Drive, between Bellaire Boulevard and South Gessner Road, at around 7:30 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the toddler was playing in the parking lot when he was hit by a reversing car.
First responders rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle fled the scene after the event, but the suspect driver, described only as male, has since been located and arrested.
The Houston Police Department said the victim’s mother, who was in the parking lot at the time, did not see the crash.
An investigation remains ongoing.
