Wrong-way driver crashes into barrier on Texas 88 in Marvel
MANVEL, TX – A wrong-way driver fatally crashed into a concrete barrier near Texas 88 and Croix Road Sunday morning, according to KTRK.
Alexander Cromwell, 45, and Janica Olphint, 36, were in a Tesla Model S that was heading south in the northbound lanes of Texas 88 around 3 a.m. It is unclear who was driving the vehicle.
The Tesla driver slammed into a concrete barrier. The Tesla then caught fire.
Firefighters extinguished the fire. The Tesla then caught on fire again, and crews put out the fire.
Both Cromwell and Oliphint died in the crash.
