Truck thief causes 4-car crash on I-10 WB
HOUSTON, TX- A man stole a vehicle, led police on a chase, and then drove against traffic on I-1o, eventually crashing into three other cars on Jan. 19th.
KHOU11 reports that the police started to follow the vehicle around Spring Branch because they identified it as a stolen car.
The chase actually started when police cars that were clearly marked began to pursue the stolen car. This was around Hempstead and West Loop.
The chase ended once the truck driver commenced counterflow driving.
The driver then crashed into three vehicles, attempting to flee on foot afterwards. The at-fault driver was caught by authorities however. Both he and one other person involved in the crash were hospitalized.
Drugs are suspected as playing a factor in the stolen vehicle, car chase, and car accident.
