Tow truck driver dies after causing a 3-truck accident on N. Sam Houston Parkway E.
HOUSTON, TX- A 46 year-old tow truck driver fatally rear-ended a truck, which led to another collision and two hospitalizations on Feb. 14th, the HPD reports.
At 3:40p.m., the unidentified at-fault white Ford F-650 flatbed driver died when his tow truck hit the back of a box truck near 6200 North Sam Houston Parkway East. Authorities reported that the speed of the westbound tow truck is what led to the crash.
The white Freightliner box truck that was struck then swerved to the left and hit a black Chevrolet Tahoe before hitting a wall and coming to a stop.
The Tahoe spun out of control from the impact with the box truck. It stopped facing the opposite direction in which it had been driving.
The two innocent drivers were hospitalized, but are expected to survive. The at-fault driver died at the scene and was pronounced dead.
There is an active investigation into this accident.
